When I started planning for my Blue Eyed Boys arrival and started registering for all the “things” that come with baby, I knew I was going to want to make my own babyfood. Little did I know that my son would prefer my homemade stuff to the store bought. The next few days, I will post my recipes and will continue to do so as I add to his diet.

I love making babyfood! Not only do I know what is going into my baby’s food but I save A LOT of money! If you

Tools to make baby food:

Today’s Veggie: Peas!

This was my choice in first food for my baby because I didn’t want him to get used to sweet stuff first.

Ingredients:
2 cups Peas (fresh or frozen)
2 cups water

Fill the bottom of your pot with 2 cups of water. Place the steamer basket into the pot. Pour 2 cups of peas into the steamer basket, place lid on top and turn stove onto Medium heat. Steam for 8-10 minutes until bright in color and mushy. You want them soft if you are using them as a first food.

Once steamed place peas into your blender or Bullet and add about a cup of the cook liquid you have left over. This liquid is perfect for thinning out your baby food. Blend until mixture is smooth, adding more liquid to make it the consistency baby can handle. As your baby gets older, you can make it more chunky.

Allow mixture to cool and place into your freezing containers. Freeze over night and then pop out and place in ziplock bags.

To thaw: Either pull out 1 hour before eating or microwave for 20-45 seconds.
