When I had my Blue Eyed Boy, I didn’t even see these things or know about them. I was so frustrated with blankets blowing all over the place and not staying on, or being in the way. Then I went on a walk with a good friend who had a baby 10 days after me and she had one of these. I wanted one really bad but didn’t see them any where and she had a friend make it for her. What was I going to do?

Well I didn’t get around to making myself one and my sweet little boy is almost out of his infant seat but I made one for my best friend who is having a baby girl at the end of April.

I used these websites as inspiration:

Supplies:
2 pieces of fabric- 1 yard each
Ribbon about 3/4 yard cut in half (two equal pieces)
Sewing Machine
Pins

  1. Place fabric good side to good side. Pin pieces together, then sew leaving about 5 inches unsown so that you can turn it right side out.
  2. Turn fabric right side out and flatten. Iron the whole thing making nice edges.
  3. Sew around the edge to finish it nicely and sew in the 5 inches you missed before.
  4. Attach the ribbon. Either with machine or hand sewn.

My modification was adding ribbon as the handle fastener rather then strips of fabric. I have also used snaps instead of Velcro… personal preference.
